Shopping at the Quilt Show

There were lots of great vendors at the Charlotte Quilt show. I have been working very hard at using fabric I already own - - but there were so many beauties at the show - I resisted the first time I walked through - but weakened in the end. Look at these 2 great patterns, some beach fabric I have been collecting and some others I couldn't resist.

This is really cool. Students at a middle school I serve paint murals on the walls around their school. (They have a very good art teacher) This is one of the walls they are painting.

A long long time ago - (April 2008) my quilting buddy shared this blog http://crazymomquilts.blogspot.com/2008/04/star-quilt-along-week-1.html with me and asked if I wanted to quilt a long with her. Then life got in the way - and we never did...although - of course I had already bought fabric...so I put it on my must do list for 2009. So here goes - today when we had a snow day - I completed blocks 1 - 4 and cut out block 5. The fabric for the background has little gold flecks in it and the other fabrics are more olivey green in nature than they might appear here.

Well - here comes March - roaring in like a lion --look what we got! So far about 5 inches. Expecting 3 - 5 more tonight.

A real huge blast of snow for this southern area!!
